2016 Commute Challenge

Colinas Farming Company is the Most Outstanding Workplace in the 2016 Napa Green Commute Challenge

We are delighted to announce Colinas Farming Company won the Most Outstanding Workplace award in the recent Napa Green Commute Challenge for the second consecutive year! Out of the twenty eight organizations who participated in the challenge, we had the most number of participants, with 71 employees participating.

On its fifth year, the Napa Green Commute Challenge was held early this spring and was organized by the Solano Napa Commuter Information (SNCI). The challenge is to encourage employees to use transit, carpool, vanpool, bike, or walk to work at least 30 workdays from April to June.

Our Most Outstanding Commuter was Omar Hernandez, who was awarded $100 in commute bucks*. He also received a certificate during a luncheon held in our honor.

Other employees who won $100.00 in the drawing were Mario Botello and Juan Ramos.

As the Most Outstanding Workplace, the company was awarded a lunch for all the participating employees and a certificate for the company.

The luncheon was held in Rutherford last August 12, 2016. The lunch included salad, sandwiches, and drinks provided by SNCI.

(L-R): Vineyard Manager Chris Pedemonte, SNCI Coordinator Sean Hurley, Vineyard Supervisor Omar Hernandez and Administrative Assistant Maggie Robles

We would like to thank Sean Hurley, Employee Outreach Coordinator of the Solano Transportation Authority for all the help in this program. We would also like to especially thank our Administrative Assistant, Maggie Robles, for the hard work in coordinating with all our participants and SNCI.

Maggie Robles accepted the acknowledgment letter presented to Colinas Farming Company on September 22, 2016, by the Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA) Chair Board, Peter White, in their September board meeting.

We encourage all our employees to continue to try a commute alternative (other than driving alone to work). We look forward to more employees participating in the 2017 Napa Green Commute Challenge.
