Sustainability Practices

Colinas Farming Company continues to promote and practice sustainable farming and at all times utilize  “best management practices.”  All vineyards we manage are certified by Fish Friendly Farming (FFF).  We are actively involved in the Rutherford Dust River Restoration program and consider ourselves stewards to any riparian waterways in proximity to our ranches.  Additionally, we always seek ways to encourage bio-control and bio-diversity through such means as installation of owl and blue bird boxes, reduced tillage, seeding of insectary cover crops, release of beneficial insects, use of sheep, and minimization of insecticides across our vineyards.

We closely monitor disease and pest pressures, working closely with our neighbors, and always using alternative means and/or least least toxic materials when designing our integrated pest management program.  Additionally, we participate in regular recycling events hosted by the Napa County Agricultural Commissioners Office to properly recycle spent containers.
